RE: Express Airport Transfers (Europe) Ltd and The Skiers Lodge Ltd t/a Easybus
EasyCoach watch – Tuesday 31st July Due to what appears to be a shortage of vehicles only one bus (MX05EKZ) worked the 2D Wrexham to Cefn Mawr. This reduced the service to at most hourly. This bus also failed in Cefn Mawr during the afternoon leaving for a while no vehicles working the service. I understand that only one bus worked the 2D on Monday 30th July also. However my observations indicated that the spare driver was able to offer relief to the other services which helped with the timekeeping. The 42 and 44 services were running to time and the 2 Oswestry service resumed after the lunch time break about on time. For the last two days Dart KP51SYR worked the 44 service and today the vehicle working the 64 Service was a Solo. Tempo YJ56WVS has appeared at the Rhosymedre depot and it is believed that it will shortly be submitted for MoT and hopefully will fill an essential gap in the vehicle requirement. DLG817
I have a website which looks at the bus and coach operators in North East Wales. There are current fleetlists for all operators and most have a full historic fleet list.
Included are current depot fleet lists for Arriva Cymru. There are also a number of ceased opertators with historic fleet lists including the GHA Group The address and a link is www.Ronsbusesandcoaches.com

. easyCoach watch Wed 8th August 2019 Another Tempo YJ56WVU has arrived at Rhosymedre and as is the case with YJ56WVS which arrived last week they are yet to enter service. They still appear to be short of serviceable vehicles and therefore only one vehicle worked the 2D Cefn Mawr service – the same situation as I noted last week. This appears to have been the case for the last few days. Two vehicles are required on this service to maintain the timetabled 30 minute frequency. Time keeping was generally observed to be quite good on all services with even the 2 Oswestry service keeping good time albeit with very light loadings. Due to the one vehicle shortage there is now a spare driver available and this driver has been allowing most of the other drivers to have longer breaks. During the lunch period at King Street Bus Station, Wrexham an officer from D.V.S.A. was seen to inspect two of the vehicles. He appeared to wait for the driver to complete their statutory break before he undertook the inspections. Each inspection took about 15 minutes and therefore on both the 44 and 2D a run was missed. Both vehicles examined went immediately into service following the inspections. The Dart KP51SYR was on the 44 Barkers Lane, Solo LXZ6238 on the 42 Wrexham Industrial Estate, Solo MX07JOU on the 64 Llangollen - Ceiriog Valley, MX05EKZ on the 2D Cefn Mawr and YJ56WUE and YJ56WVV on the 2 Oswestry. RE: Express Airport Transfers (Europe) Ltd and The Skiers Lodge Ltd t/a Easybus
. A significant development in the easyCoach story is that published in N&P dated yesterday (16th August) is:- Section 2.7 - Applications Withdrawn Prior to Determination PG2012783 SI - TSL ( WALES) LIMITED Director(s): Andrew Martin The current services are of course still registered to the company The Skiers Lodge Limited (TSL) with Operating Centres in Shrewsbury [9 vehicles] and Gledrid Truck Stop [7 vehicles] (at the end of the Chirk ByPass). On Monday of this week (and for a period of 3 weeks) most bus services running south of Wrexham are affected by road works in Ruabon which has shut the main road through the village. Arriva are dealing with this (for the Oswestry, Cefn Mawr and Llangollen services) by diverting from Croesfoel along the A483 bypass and then coming into Ruabon from the side of the Wynnstay Hotel. The exception being for the 2B service which is only operating a short service into Ruabon village via Johnstown. easyCoach have chosen a different diversion whereby they go through Pentre Bychan and Johnstown and when arriving into Ruabon go through the housing estate down New Hall Road to the bypass and then leave the by-pass going straight towards Plas Madoc. Arriva were observed to be able to keep to the timetable for buses leaving Wrexham whereas easyCoach were rarely able to do this. Again one bus appeared to be missing from the required compliment of four and unusually the three buses involved were interworking between the 2 and 2D resulting in a number of random missed journeys on both services. . . RE: Express Airport Transfers (Europe) Ltd and The Skiers Lodge Ltd t/a Easybus
. easyCoach watch - 20th August 2018 The Dart KP51SYR failed on Saturday 18th August which resulted in it not being available on Monday 20th August 2018 and hence the 44 service did not run on this day. There appears to be still only 3 Tempos available for service MX05EKZ, YJ56WUE and YJ56WVV and this entails a number of lost journeys on both the 2 and 2D I was made aware that since Monday 12th August 2018 there has been a substitute timetable in place presumably due to the road works in Ruabon. This timetable is produced on a double sided A5 sheet of paper and was obtained from the enquiry office. It does not appear elsewhere in the King Street Bus Station or to my knowledge elsewhere. The easyCoach website is not yet active and there is no mention of it in the firm's Facebook page. I have scanned the timetable page and it is available – HERE. Essentially it is now a combined 2 and 2D timetable. The Oswestry timings are such that the service runs 2 minutes earlier from Wrexham at xx30 in the morning and xx00 in the afternoon (except 1630) arriving 5 minutes later than previously at Oswestry. Similarly the Oswestry departures are 2 minutes earlier departing and 5 minutes later arriving. In the case of the 2D Cefn Mawr services only the xx50 services in the morning are timetabled and xx20 services in the afternoon. However the timetable has been formulated on the basis of 4 vehicles and to date only 3 vehicles have been utilised. Therefore the 8.30 and 13.00 Oswestry journey appear not to have been operated together with the 10.50, 15.20, 16.50 and 18.00 Cefn Mawr runs. Apparently there is an error on the timetable - the 1307 journey ex Oswestry should have been shown as leaving at 1235 with the other timings altered accordingly. Also a typo exists relating to the arrival at Cefn Mawr of the 1220 journey from Wrexham. The 64 Llangollen to Ceirog Valley service is being offered for re-tender by Wrexham Council and tenders have to be submitted by 28th August for an award expected on 10th September. On Monday 20th August Solo LXZ6238 was operating the service and whilst it did operate through the Pengwern Housing Estate it did not to operate from the Llangollen Health Centre at 1325. DLG817

15 service buses (according to your websites fleetlist). A PVR of 8. How are trips being missed? There should be no issues. According to a former employee, EasyCoach are scheduled to go up against the TC at a public enquiry. I haven't seen anything on N+Ps yet so could be untrue but that is what he said. |
