Only minor change to 2 journeys. Interesting to note Pennine Drive is still noted as a timing point even though no journeys serve this point now.

Although this claims frequency has increased at peak times, it has actually decreased. A very similar situation to the 174.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
Have Merseytravel stopped publishing paper bus maps, can't get hold of maps from September anywhere, but they're up online?

Yes. The first area to go paperless with timetables will be St Helens (including the Bus stn) also as part of a 6 month trial

I do think they have to ensure that the people who aren't digitally connected can still obtain timetables , we are probably still in an age when the older end of our population is not computer literate .

Are you saying the timetables at stands within the bus station will disappear? The screens that passengers would refer to are unreliable with all sorts going wrong

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes
I will probably miss the paper maps even more than the timetables, and have already made a complaint about this. If you put a full map onto a computer screen, the text is usually too small to read. If you zoom in to make the text legible, for example, it becomes a lot more difficult to follow a full route, and its relationship to neighbouring areas.

The new 289 replacement timetable isn't as yet up on Merseytravel's website but unless there's an extension to the 290 service as well, the Prescot - St Helens section may well be set to lose the Saturday service. Also if the 289 is still to use one bus, the potential is for the frequency to be reduced. I guess it's a case of wait and see.

289 timetable now uploaded
Quote:Route 289 is extended via Rainhill to St Helens to replace the withdrawn section of Route 139.
Saturday Route 290 is withdrawn but replaced by Route 289 journeys running from St Helens through to
Kirkby bus station.
Times are changed.

Thanks iMarkeh, that is actually an improvement on the 139 extension with later last journeys from St Helens.
