RE: Stagecoach Merseyside - Gillmoss Depot Thank you for the list of Enviro 400-MMCs stopping off here on the way to Cambridge. Ironically, I found out about these just after booking a post-Christmas break in Cambridge! I am admittedly going there mainly for the guided busway. Returning here, I wonder whether some of the 33 imminent Enviro 400-MMCs will enable routes 2 & X8 to be fully double-decked even after the Wirral Line reopens. We have speculated about Stagecoach expanding in Merseyside. Could they offer to buy an Arriva depot?

Re franchising I can see a case in point. If Stagecoach took over Arriva St Helens for example, and through franchising several routes were lost to Halton, HTL & Warrington, Stagecoach could then regret having made such a purchase. As this has been my final post tonight, I shall wish you all a very happy Christmas & New Year. I shall next post here in the first week of 2017.

Doubtful whether the 2 and X8 would remain double deck after the end of rail works. I would have thought Gillmoss routes 20 and 21 had a far higher priority. All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles

It already operates a five-minute frequency and, at busy times, it is common to see four in a line with only the tail end one with any spare capacity. An increase in capacity, reduction is frequency to every six minutes with additional running time makes most sense.

RE: Stagecoach Merseyside - Gillmoss Depot Seemed to be all double deckers on the 17 today (27 Dec.) - presumably because Liverpool FC had a home game?
