Arriva North West - Speke Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot
Saw 4828 leaving the airport out of service before, but had the destination set as the 10 to St Helens, assuming accidentally. Just wondering, do Merseyside depots all have each others routes saved on the displays?

Unusually, I saw 2786 on the 3 this afternoon instead of the usual Solo SR or StreetLite

Usual Bustimes precautions, but it seems there are vehicles on loan presumably for shuttle variants, as 4611 and 4662 are tracking on the 75.

Buses are not on loan. This weekend there are loads of extra buses and standbys being used. Ticket machines have been updated so drivers can switch depots to operate other depot routes.

Last 3 days Green Lane out 3 extra buses out for the 27 service to Sefton park but they were then changed to operated extra 75 services from Elliot street or the Adelphi yesterday.

Extra buses are out today and drivers been told they could be used on any service for any depot. So yes you could see Wirral cross river buses on green lane services or bootle for example

Yes - I programmed them back in 2018/ish up until leaving 2021... I did it so that all buses across Merseyside garages/depots (whatever you call them now-a-days!) can have destinations on. Made it easier when buses transfer. Main aim was to have them all uniform and looking the same too with font sizes etc and a way for the driver to input the route so that it was all the same. Standardisation was a priority with Arriva back then.

Also really. handy for big events in the city so buses can be used as spares and used on any route without having an A4 piece of paper in the windscreen!

Info codes which you have probably noticed which show passengers that the bus is on diversion were all done then too and adopted by Stagecoach too.

I do miss programming them now but I do believe they are in good hands with Mr Dobson (senior) at Arriva who is also keen on making buses on Merseyside better.
