Stedman Pearson from the British pop group Five Star has died at the age of 60. Pearson, who died on Monday, had diabetes and was on dialysis treatment. Their matching outfits and synchronised dance routines meant they were seen by some as a British answer to The Jackson 5.

Former Radio 1 DJ Andy Peebles, one of the last people to interview John Lennon, has died at the age of 76. He presented on BBC Radio 1 from 1978 to 1992 and also hosted a number of editions of Top of the Pops in the 1970s and 80s. Peebles interviewed Lennon two days before the musician's murder in December 1980.

Former Lancashire and England fast bowler Peter Lever has died at the age of 84. Lever was part of the England team that won the Ashes in Australia in 1970-71.

Richard Chamberlain, the actor best known for his role in the 1960s medical drama Dr Kildare and leading role in Shogun, has died aged 90, just hours before his 91st birthday.

Actor Val Kilmer, who starred in some of the biggest movies of the 1980s and 90s, including Top Gun and Batman Forever, has died at the age of 65. He also appeared in 1991's The Doors - playing the legendary band's frontman Jim Morrison - plus the Western Tombstone and crime drama Heat. Kilmer died of pneumonia on Tuesday in Los Angeles, he had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 but later recovered.

Singer and actor Mike Berry, who was the last surviving main cast member of sitcom Are You Being Served?, has died at the age of 82. Berry played Mr Spooner in the TV show in the 1980s, and also had two top 10 hit singles - Don't You Think It's Time in 1963 and The Sunshine of Your Smile in 1980.

Upstairs Downstairs co-creator and actress Jean Marsh has died aged 90. Marsh also had roles in Hollywood films including Cleopatra, Willow and Alfred Hitchcock's Frenzy and on TV in Doctor Who. London-born Marsh was married for five years to actor Jon Pertwee, who later starred as Dr Who.
