As continued from the old forum here is a thread for the Jurby Transport Museum.

RE: Jurby Transport Museum - SK15 GZG - 12/06/2012 22:35

Work on Dennis Dart SLF 10.7M (Marshall Capital) 25 DMN-25-R is progressing well with the repaint now completed.

I had an excellent day up at Jurby today

Preliminary restoration work has commenced on Leyland Olympian (Northern Counties) 58 BMN-58-V whilst work continued on Atlantean (Park Royal) 63 2694-MAN which has received a "new" bonnet from Atlantean (Alexander AN68) 144 CMN-44-C which is currently being dismantled

A link to the Museum's current fleetlist is available in my signature

Popped in to Jurby this afternoon. Nice to see ex MPTE 1235 parked outside basking in the sunshine. Everybody looking rather busy, so didn't like to interrupt!

Back to the UK on Monday so may call back in tomorrow if get time.

My 2nd this year! Spoke to a couple of guys there last few times been over ( owners of MPTE 1235 ). Great new place you have, shame about the stuff that has to be stored outside especially ex MPTE Jumbo in white (1204 IIRC).
Keep up the good work.

Another update from Jurby:

Dennis Dart SLF (Marshall Capital) 25 DMN-25-R made its preservation debut at the car boot sale held at the Museum on Sunday 29th July. It is currently awaiting vinyls and refitting of its seating. The car boot sale saw over 600 visitors to the Museum in one day

Some sad news is that Leyland Atlantean (Park Royal) 63 2694-MAN (ex SELNEC 7115 XJA 506L) is to be scrapped due to its condition. Useful parts from the vehicle will be removed and sold before the remaining shell is scrapped

RE: Jurby Transport Museum - SK15 GZG - 27/08/2012 21:38

Yesterday the Jurby Transport Museum welcomed its 30,000th visitor since it opened in Easter 2010

Also in other news Leyland Atlantean 71 MAN-3460 (ex MPTE 1204 XKC 831K) has now entered preservation. It is the second Jumbo Atlantean to be preserved at Jurby and it will become an exhibition unit for the Jurby Transport Museum when restored

RE: Jurby Transport Museum - SK15 GZG - 02/09/2012 20:19

The excellent weather on the Isle of Man this weekend allowed further demolition work to take place on ex Portsmouth Atlantean 144 CMN-44-C (ex 330 UOR 330T). It is hoped demolition work will be completed very soon

Today work took place on Leyland Tiger 34 HMN-787. Other news from Jurby is that Leyland Atlantean (Park Royal) 63 2694-MAN (ex SELNEC 7115 XJA 506L) may now not be scrapped in favour of a cosmetic restoration

Jumbo Atlantean 45 MAN-3432 spent the weekend as a race control bus for a drag racing event - a role which the Museum's other Jumbo Atlantean 71 MAN-3460 operated for nearly twenty years
