No, given the B5LHs fuel the same way as a Diesel-engined bus. As for number of Hybrids vs PVR, there is actually enough for 1 spare given the PVR of the 308 is 9 (Every 15 minutes, round trip of 2 hours 8 minutes).
Also it appears that the spare sees regular use on the X11 now with a few sightings being made.

1205 R295KRG and 4501 V501DFT both seen today (Thursday) in Brampton on the 685 .
4501 was also on the 685 Newcastle <> Carlisle Monday.

I have noted 7462 twice recently working for Jesmond, including today on service 45, so it seems to have been spared the journey south to Durham up to now.
Also, Temsa 4717 was still under repair at Smiles, Brunswick today, in the company of two Arriva Denmark open-top double deckers.

15-branded Pulsar 1485 replaced 1772 on the 7 today, while 1920 was on the 15, 1916 on the 21a and a Cadet also worked the X1/X2.
