Out of curiosity, is anyone aware of the location that scrapped members of the Arriva fleet go to after withdrawal, for example I know that Speke’s 4116 was sent to PVS Barnsley.

Makes me feel old seeing so many Commanders, along with the ALX400s withdrawn & scrapped, when i vividly remember them new.

Is there any reason so many have gone for scrap rather than be sold on like Arriva used to do with previous withdrawals? Seems strange so many scrapped after 16/17 years when previous buses took a law change in step entrances to be taken out of servixe 25 years on with other companies.

It seems common policy these days for Arriva to scrap their Buses, bar the odd exception almost everything has been scrapped since the Endurance/Olympian Days
