It appears services in the Chorley area have had a bit of a reprieve thanks to support from Chorley Borough Council - wonder how long that will last given the pressure on local councils generally. Good to see the 24A evening & Sunday service continuing the valuable link at these times between Blackburn & Chorley at these times.

A few posts from Fylde Bus Blog which explain all the changes in the area in April including the retained subsidised services and the commercial replacements.

Looks like Pilki's have picked up a fair bit of the LCC work from Holmeswood/Tyrer. This was posted on their Facebook page earlier...
More Great news

Clitheroe Town Bus Service 2/2a
Clitheroe to Nelson bus service 7/7a
Nelson Town Bus Services 8/9

No details of operators but Lancashire CC have published 'indicative' timetables for some of the changed services. Looking at the timetables, it might be a case that Transdev will step in with the 24A and 109A evening/Sunday services, as the first Mon-Sat evening journey starts from Blackburn before running between Abbey Village and Chorley. Times would also indicate interworks between 24A and 109A.

Meanwhile, Rosso confirming they will run the 11/12 services in Rawtenstall on behalf of LCC, while there'll be some extra weekday journeys on the 244.

One of the councillors has said on his Facebook page that Preston Bus are taking on the 180/280/X80 commercially to much the same timetable as currently!

Didn't see that coming!!

That would be a turn-up for the books if true about 180/280/X80.

Also noticed on Pilkington Bus Facebook page that they'll introduce a Saturday service on the 14 between Clitheroe and Accrington in April on a commercial basis.

It will be interesting to see, who if anybody picks up these services.

I had heard that Rotala (Diamond/Preston Bus), were looking into expending.
