Ten years ago today Joe Strummer died.

The clash were my teenage heros and meeting them in the flesh after a gig in Liverpool in 1981 was one the highlights of my time living in the city.

RIP and keep the Garageband going up there in heaven, Joe.

Very sad to hear of CMJ's death particularly as a long-time listener and fan of TMS. The programme will be all the poorer for his loss - a true gentlemen and broadcaster of the classic variety, all too few in this age of 'legends in their own mind' like Vaughan. R.I.P. Christopher and Tony.

Richard Briers, the legendary actor, has sadly died at his home yesterday. Best known for roles in The Good Life, Ever Decreasing Circles and Monarch of the Glen, it is his performance as the vicar in an early episode of Midsomer Murders and for voicing the Homepride adverts for a number of years that I remember him best.

R.I.P. Richard, a national treasure.

Also Derek Batey has passed away, he will be remembered as being the hosy of Mr & Mrs in the late 70's and early 80's, I'M sure that there is only one or two of you that will remember him, I was only a small child when it was last on with with him but just about remember him.

Don't forget he did the voices in the Rhubarb and Custard cartoons!!

As he admitted recently, it was the fags that got him in the end.

Frank Thornton , otherwise known as ' Captain Peacock' in Are you being served and Truely of the Yard in Last of the Summer Wine , died today aged 92.

In Last of the Summer Wine its amazing how Peter Sallis as 'Clegg' has lasted so long when all his fellow actors have passed on , he must himself be a fair age .

Peter Sallis is 92, so not that remarkable really when compared with Frank Thornton.
