Im led to believe due to damage this unit required two units one on either end for assistance back to chester .

This now means that there will be a new operator of the Welsh franchise.

Do you think this may be because of micro management from the Welsh Assembly.

Reported elsewhere the requirement for the franchise to take infrastructure responsibility is what made Arriva want to pull out.

It seems that another Arriva 175 is out of commission following a fire onboard a unit in platform 4A at Shrewsbury Station.

With Arriva Trains Wales potentially two units down there is not going to be much slack in availability now , there is potential for seeing both loco hauled trains out at the weekends maybe ?

175004 is stowed up on the sidings at Chester, opposite platform 7, minus it's engine and transmission underneath the A coach. The fire damage is visible, not badly damaged but enough to warrant the entire unit to be off for quite some time.
