I did hear they'll be refurbished internally to the same standard as the Cross River examples

Does anyone know why these ten have been exchanged with standard diesels? Is it simply to keep them in one area?

Not the direct reason, but If bus franchising goes ahead, LCRCA want to increase the number of environmentally friendly vehicles on the road in Liverpool, and will favour operators who provide buses that use alternate greener fuel supplies to run services.

Arriva are rather lax reguarding fleet numbering just look at the hybrids at Laird Street, quite a lot still haven't got a full set of fleetnumbers after 4 years in service,so I don't think they are bothered.

Been told too that another reason is merseyside took out extended warranty that includes parts and labour with volvo and anything major goes wrong with them volvo repair them at no extra cost to arriva.
Where as bolton and other areas didn't so it become rather costly to repair so the plan was to bring them to merseyside and put them on the extended warranty and thats whats happened.
