Was they fitted internally or externally? On the outside would make it wider by an inch or so and don't know what DVLA or police would say. Internally and you get the glass bricked. A few years ago (2009 maybe?), 2228 (X228 ANC) DartSLF/Pointer2 was a battle bus and it had clear sheeting fitted to the inside of the windows. When it was eventually removed in November, you could still see the drill holes on the black rubber window sills where the sheeting had been. Easy to identify (its got an overall rear advert).
