RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 08/01/2025 10:34 Looks like 120 and 122 may have moved from Macclesfield to Adderley Green, presumably because of the 385 route moving to Bee Network. I did wonder whether it would mean 37 and 41 would be offloaded, but 41 is tracking on the 19 route today. RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 14/01/2025 17:55 5002 worked the 12:45 Altrincham to Macclesfield 88 journey. It arrived in Macclesfield a few minutes behind schedule. The return working was operated by 131 running 50 minutes late. How long does it take to switch buses at D&G's Macclesfield depot? Or was the only spare in the process of being fixed/serviced? RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 24/01/2025 14:28 Vehicle 48 (a Leighton Link Solo SR) is on route 31/37 workings today if bus times is to be believed. An unusual choice for a high patronage route. RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 25/01/2025 15:36 There's an emergency road closure on a section of the B5391 in Pickmere and D&G seem to be using the A556 as the alternative, missing out Tabley and Pickmere altogether, some drivers including Higher Wincham and others skipping it. Would this appear to be a route where it would be unwise to send an Enviro or Solo along? https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Knutsford/Red+Lion,+Pickmere,+Park+Lane,+Pickmere,+Knutsford/Watling+St,+Northwich/@53.2869793,-2.4684105,13.76z/data=!4m30!4m29!1m10!1m1!1s0x487a510bd8c2a3f9:0x147a9ae5b7b7fd59!2m2!1d-2.371833!2d53.3005939!3m4!1m2!1d-2.4513193!2d53.3064249!3s0x487a558e07455e05:0x7e42ca65dee8f217!1m10!1m1!1s0x487aff5a0559aaa5:0x9138496f0ec05a37!2m2!1d-2.4620411!2d53.2895766!3m4!1m2!1d-2.4600297!2d53.2734376!3s0x487af8a9832734ed:0xe3046975474da963!1m5!1m1!1s0x487af9215e3c194d:0x4da6b050a299a4df!2m2!1d-2.5142902!2d53.2603809!3e0?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDEyMi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D It would be seem to be the closest to the normal route that would leave as many bus stops as possible still served. RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 03/02/2025 14:05 Looks like the 42 route might have switched depots (again). 101, 105, 58 and 570 have tracking on it today, with 105 switching to Macclesfield locals and 570 going on to the 42. Also 122 is tracking on the 312, with 120 not tracking, so presumably they've returned from their High Peak loan. RE: D&G Bus - T42 PVM - 03/02/2025 16:04 Is there any truth if D&G losing the 42? Heard something a few days ago but not seen anything since RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 03/02/2025 16:20 (03/02/2025 16:04)T42 PVM Wrote: Is there any truth if D&G losing the 42? Heard something a few days ago but not seen anything since All the Cheshire East contracts should be up for renewal soon, but I've not seen or heard anything official about the retendering. I'm not sure which other operators would want the 42. Possibly Mikro or Hollinshead might consider running it? RE: D&G Bus - T42 PVM - 03/02/2025 17:44 Mikro was mentioned but again unsure how true RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 07/02/2025 10:02 48 registration is showing as cancelled but not showing an effective date: https://www.vehicle-operator-licensing.service.gov.uk/search/find-registered-local-bus-services/details/630605/ RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 09/02/2025 13:35 I recently travelled on one of D&G's Evoras for the first time. The leg room is a bit lacking, compared to their other larger vehicles. The elevation of the rear seats seems more than on other vehicles, which does a better job of hiding the rear wheel, but perhaps reduced the external view a bit. One vehicle I was on had automated announcements playing, the other didn't. I felt they sounded louder than the ones I've heard on WOB services. I also was on one of their Slimline Solos on the 88 route yesterday - the first time in a few years I've caught one of those. They really aren't the right vehicles for longer services. As well as the very firm seating, there's a lack of space between the seats and the side of the bus, so they will be very uncomfortable for anyone making a longer journey on a busy bus. A big contrast to their 2 x 68 reg MMCs, that have comfortable seats and a bit of leg room - if you choose the right seat. |
