RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot - mr t - 05/03/2015 22:21 It was actually all fine when I was round there on Monday and Tuesday, with the exception of the usual idiot drivers who think road closed does not apply to them then having to do Uturns outside Burgerking. The 86s were laying over in Hawke Street and Brownlow Hill, the 75/80s just seemed to keep going round from Lewis's then straight back in service from Great Charlotte Street. Saying that it wasnt peak hour so dont know how bad it will be then, I think it will probably be worse on Saturday plus saturday night with all the taxis and buses will well and truly have to fight for space in the Great Charlotte Street area. Will have to get some pics! SD. RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot - H101GEV - 08/03/2015 18:39 Had a go on a very well loaded 4469 on the 500 this afternoon, and what a superb rider it is. Quiet, smooth and nippy with a friendly driver too. It has to be said, 4469 was quite a bit better than the far newer 4557 I had later on. 4568's front panel has been sorted and it looks a lot better. They've even painted the yellow stripe back on it. Replacing a number of commanders or even (hopefully) the remaining 4 Cadets. Two former Welsh Commanders are to be dedicated to the 500 Airlink Express come next month when the PVR for this route will use only 2 buses terminating at Liverpool ONE. Possibly MAX? RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot - wirralbus - 09/03/2015 15:29 It wouldn't surprise me in the long run when the 500 starts / finishes at Liverpool One that the route quietly falls over and dies . This route has changed considerably over the years from when it was first introduced and operated by Selwyns on behalf of merseytravel , yeah it was a contract to start off with , before Arriva made it commercial. RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot - Official - 09/03/2015 15:42 When I say max, I mean max branded! Rather than getting fancy branding and mod cons, I think this route is slowly dying. RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot - T42 PVM - 09/03/2015 19:17 I also agree, The new Service revision is a joke, I bet if someone competed with them they would not of done this change RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot - motormayhem1 - 09/03/2015 19:50 They should never of messed with the 500 as its a big profitable route but use to attract a lot of passengers but passenger numbers are slowly dropping and agree that its only going to get worse. RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot - MPTE1955 - 09/03/2015 20:12 I also agree, this route is slowly drifting away. Ruined it. |
