RE: Halton Transport - RSTurbo50 - 11/03/2018 20:51 Out of interest what are the loadings like on Halton buses in the Liverpool area as I struggle to see how they make money as in the Halton area they only have a handful of passengers on at any time.... The 14 does better than the 61. However buses can be a bit hit or miss. If I’m on a route where both Halton and Arriva compete I would always catch the Halton bus as it will be quicker into town RE: Halton Transport - RSTurbo50 - 13/03/2018 16:34 (12/03/2018 22:26)Nwales Bus Wrote: The 14 does better than the 61. I think the Merseytravel schools contracts go to help keep the company afloat. Is it true the company is up for sale? RE: Halton Transport - Quackdave - 13/03/2018 22:06 When I used the 61 regularly (up until about 8 months ago), it seemed to do reasonably well, though admittedly a large proportion of my journeys were during the peak times. Although rarely "packed", it was usually over half full. What I have noticed is that the 61(A) often doesn't keep to time in the peaks, leading to a 61 and a 61A regularly running nose-to-tail in the peaks, effectively halving the frequency on that common stretch of the routes. RE: Halton Transport - iMarkeh - 14/03/2018 15:57 Route 14C (14D) is cancelled (I don't know if this is both services or not but the registration is cancelled) Route 27 & 14 both registered variations All from 6th May. I don't know about passenger loadings, but perhaps 14 services will run to West Bank, possibly with extra short workings? I don't know about passenger loadings, but perhaps 14 services will run to West Bank, possibly with extra short workings? It sounds like it will be something like that - though due to the timings, I don't think that *just* the 14 could extend to West Bank, as then (unless there is huge layover) it would run back to Widnes and onwards along the route at exactly the same time as the 14A. I think it's conceivable that the half-hourly 14 *and* the half-hourly 27 could be extended to West Bank and interwork, so that they combine to give a service to West Bank every 15 minutes, but this is just my two pence - the timings pretty much work. |
