RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes - St Helens Rider - 21/08/2012 15:01 The reduction in frequency on the 32/32A is a bit of a shock and unless the 33/33A has been retimed cleverly enough, will cause no end of problems on Stand 5 at St Helens Bus Station. Every 10 minutes each was a reasonable balance but the 32/32A now being combined every 15 minutes, the 33/33A are going to have to be crow barred in somewhere. Details of the two that are in the newspaper that aren't yet online are as follows: Valid from 2nd/3rd September: 33 (Sutton Heath - Sutton Manor or Widnes) All Route 33 and 33A buses are now numbered 33. The Monday to Friday off peak and Saturday daytime frequency is reduced to a combined 15 minute frequency. Some times are changed. Some buses are rerouted to run from Sutton Heath Road to Elephant Lane, so don’t serve Sherdley Road. http://merseytravel.gov.uk/pdf/tt_001/33%20Sutton%20Heath%20-%20Sutton%20Manor%20or%20Widnes%20(from%2002%20September%202012).pdf 34/34A (St Helens - Newton-le-Willows or Leigh) Route 34A is rerouted to serve Bradlegh Road, replacing a part of Route 20. The times are changed. http://merseytravel.gov.uk/pdf/tt_001/34A%20St%20Helens%20-%20Newton-le-Willows%20(from%2002%20September%202012).pdf EDIT - Links to timetables are now added! RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes - CX54 DKD - 28/08/2012 14:29 I can only see the removal of the A prefix causing problems to no end. The amount of passengers who completely ignore the destination display and ask if the driver is going to Thatto Heath despite the display reading Sutton Manor is bad enough as it is! The changes to the route at the Thatto Heath end make more sense as not a lot of passenger use the loop round by Suttons. It should only be what were the 33A journeys that now make that loop. Although, with that A prefix being removed and passengers being completely oblivious to displays at it is, there's just going to be more problems with people not realising that the bus they're on is not going to complete the Suttons loop. I'd just be interested to hear the logic behind the removal of that A prefix anyway!
