Thanks for clarifying.

Is it HTL operating the 153? Doesn't say on the timetable.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes - motormayhem1 - 20/08/2016 15:30

As far as im aware yes as think HTL won all the contracts except the 111 and 137 which hattons have got.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes - CX06 EBK - 20/08/2016 16:19

You are right MM, HTL will be operating the 152, 153, 156 (AM), 156 (PM), 17, 30 (PM), 35E, 38A, 602, 603, 33 (PM), 12 (Sundays), 141 (PM), 140 (PM), 60 (PM). I think that is everything!

With the amount of work HTL now have in St Helens, I do wonder whether it would be worth their while finding suitable location in the town and opening an outstation given all the dead mileage involved going to/from Huyton.

I thought HTL have got the 156 7 Days a week (only one journey run by Cumfybus Mon - Sat Mornings).

This also slightly reduces Arriva's presence in the town. They no longer have the 156 or the 356 although they are now running on Sunday daytimes on the 30 (St Helens - Chain Lane section).

The only new timetable which hasn't been published yet is the 34/34A.

And spray painting an 'S' in front of 'HTL' on their buses to make it St Helens Travel Ltd. :P

Both the 156 and 356 was only making profit marginally due to deminished payments to serve old whint estate on the 156 and crank on the 356 if it was for deminished payments i don't think they would be worh keeping otherwise.
Both routes are 90% pass holders and other 10%basically weekly ticket holders and know most passengers wont be happy but unfortunately thats the bus industry for you.

RE: Merseytravel Timetable Changes - CX06 EBK - 20/08/2016 18:05

HTL do have the 156 all day but what I meant by the AM is that they have both day and night time variants. HTL won't look at an outstation as the costs involved operating two bases would be far more than the 10 minute trip from Huyton to St Helens town centre via the M62 / Linkway, which even at peak hour is quite quick. Plus you still have the factor that some of these routes in the evening such as the 140/141 will work off Liverpool routes such as the 211 and 167.
