Services on Sundays are different from weekdays. There are currently 3 x 319 services running via Bolton on weekdays and none of these are booked to call at Heaton Chapel.

I think there was engineering works going on over Easter which meant some services were diverted but I just checked and you were on a train which started (as usual) from platform 3A at Stockport (using stock stabled there overnight) and runs to Blackpool via Lostock, so the reference to it being a train from Alderley Edge was incorrect.
Trains from Alderley Edge go to Wigan or Southport via Bolton, with the ones that terminate at Wigan then forming a Wigan-Bolton-Victoria-Stalybridge service, which is why I mentioned the lack of wires and 769s.

Thank you to those of you who have clarified why my trains via Bolton were electric on Easter Sunday but not Good Friday.
I hope all trains to Blackpool North via Wigan North Western or via Horwich will be electric in the new timetables.
